Hong Kong Hotel Annual Study 2018

This is the 32nd edition of the Hong Kong Hotel Industry Report, jointly produced by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and Horwath HTL (Horwath HTL), and supported by the Hong Kong Hotels Association (HKHA) and the Hotel Controllers & Accountants Association of Hong Kong (HCAA). This report presents detailed financial, operational and marketing information from 103 hotels located throughout Hong Kong. Data is compiled, analysed and presented by segmented category based on achieved daily room rate. Key sections in the study include detailed departmental revenue, expenses and profitability ratios by rate, market mix, composition of advance reservation. Other information such as labour cost/productivity and food and operation statistics is also presented in the study.

Based on the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry, Horwath HTL Hotel Industry Survey of Operations not only tracks the operating and financial characteristics of specific hotel markets, but also sets consistent standards for benchmarking as a management tool for measuring and improving individual property performances by providing an invaluable source of industry information that would otherwise be difficult to obtain.
